I recently watched this movie in Christchurch with Gerry. Before I went to the cinema all I knew about this movie was that there was a man who was born in his old age and ages backward. The story started with a blind man who was a clock designer in 1918. He hoped the clock could make time go back to before the first world war which his son and many other young men died in. His clock was special because it ran backwards instead of forwards. Benjamin, played by Brad Pitt, was born at the same time the clock was put into use and this began his fancy life.
This movie is the same as other films which deal with the description the “LOVE”. For sure, if you were born when you are old then that would be very different from other people. You would have a lot of different life experiences and a more deep understanding of the meaning of life. Unfortunately while watching this movie I couldn’t see or feel any emotion or wisdom from Brad Pitt. Maybe he has seen too much of life coming and going and that is why he used the normal manner to watch every thing. Dealing with the love theme, it is unique because Daisy is like clockwise and Benjamin is like counterclockwise. This means they have just one point where they are equal. On the other hand I more like the part of the movie when Benjamin falls in live with a woman who has a husband.. He meets Ms Seinton in Russia and they are always “waiting” for each other in the night and “expect” to listen to their different life stories. Their behavior is wrong since she is married but neither Seinton or Pitt seem to care..
Finally, the background movie music was good and the style had a little French flavor to it. The composer is Alexandre Desplat who is a famous composer for movies.
